What is the UK drink driving limit?
In technical terms, you are over the drink drive limit if there is
- 81 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in your body or,
- 36 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres in your breath or,
- 108 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres in your urine.
What if I go over the drink driving limit?
As a general guide, a drink driver could be facing anything from a maximum penalty of six months in prison, to a fine of up to £5,000 and a minimum driving ban of 12 months.

Drink driving rehabilitation courses
Following a guilty plea or conviction the Court has the discretion to offer the drink driving rehabilitation course. If the court feels that you are someone suitable to attend upon the course a reduction in disqualification can be offered of up to 25%.
